How to learn Reiki?

Reiki is a very basic and simple technique that can be learned and practiced by any individual. One can get hold of the protocols easily. There are no prerequisites for learning Reiki, neither having any particular belief nor any dogmas or following a particular religion or sect. You can learn Reiki by enrolling in a college course or through specialized courses run by private institutions or Reiki clinics. To learn Reiki might take a span of time ranging to a couple of weeks to a few years, depending upon the type of certification required. There is no online way of learning the culture of Reiki, as one needs to experience the ultimate energy force and the Reiki energy channeling within one's self. Udemy courses are also available in order to learn Reiki.

To understand and feel Reiki before practicing or going for a higher level, one could go for the introductory courses at a college or any private organization who have Reiki healers. One must have an experience of Reiki before proceeding further, so attending Reiki sessions is necessary for profound understanding. An individual can also go through the process of attenuation and getting connected to the Reiki energy, feel its force because Reiki is all practical, it comes from within yourself, from the deeper level of understanding of cosmic forces and developing psychic abilities.

Becoming a Reiki Master

In order to become a Reiki master, you must be under the guidance of a Reiki master itself. People coming from any background can take training to be a Reiki master. No specific kind of knowledge nor skill or trait is required for taking the path of becoming a Reiki master.

There are three levels with a total of six divisions to finally being a Reiki Master which are based upon the teachings of the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui.

Shoden, meaning the student is the initial level in which the individual had to be strenuous in developing their own spirituality before being able to move on to the next level. The student has to feel the lifeforce energy through surging himself and others either through heat, coolness or tingling. It generally completed within a week or two. Shoden is further divided into four stages. In the Usui system, this level is also called initiation.

Okuden, denoting inner teachings, consists of two phases, is the next phase. A larger amount of energy is channeled in this phase. It could take a few weeks to a few months of training in this stage. The student is given the knowledge of three Reiki symbols, the power symbol, the harmony symbol, and the distance symbol.

Shinpi-den, meaning mystery teachings, is the last stage which only a few people are able to attain and thus be called a Reiki master. The student is given the master symbol and after completing this level, given the responsibility of teaching the practice of Reiki to others.

Is Reiki a Pseudoscience?  

The atheists reject the idea of the existence of the universal life force as there has been no scientific theory as of yet to prove it. The basic nature of Atheism discards the concept of the creator, whereas, in the Reiki institution, we use the vital life force which is directly linked with our creator. Reiki is totally based on one’s belief of the ultimate force and the bondage we share with our creator. Thus, Reiki is deemed as pseudoscience. Whether the practice of Reiki is real or fiction is entirely dependent upon our belief as an individual. It is the experience that can help differentiate between the facts given to us. Altogether, we also cannot totally there is an existing vital force that creates an aura of positivity and brings good to everything it touches.
