KUNDLI MATCHING IS BEST FOR AN IDEAL MARRIAGE

Marriage is a life-changing step in everyone’s life. It is the holy union of two individuals to spend the rest of their lives together.

Since the boy and girl make promises to each other, it is important to make sure that they are truly compatible with each other. Believe it or not, more than love, compromise is what makes a relationship work and if you are not very compatible with your better half, things might be a bit tougher for you than the rest.

This is where Kundli matching comes in to play.

WHAT IS KUNDLI MATCHING?

Kundli matching is the equivalent of horoscope matching for marriage in Vedic Astrology. If you belong to the Hindu society in India, you would definitely have heard of this term.

Arranged marriages are a very common aspect of Indian society. Therefore, check whether the Kundli match is extremely important before moving forward with any marriage proposal.

This is also a reassurance for the prospective bride and groom since they come to know how the stars will influence their married life. In case there are some unfavorable things, it also helps them understand what remedial measures can be taken to make their marriage work.

GUNA MILAN

Nowadays, kundli matching can be done anytime and anywhere online by entering the birth details of the boy and the girl. For Kundli matching, the placement of the moon plays a very vital part. The moon’s placement provides astrologers with the “Janam Rashi” or Moon sign and “Nakshatra” or constellation of the two natives. These two are important with respect to Vedic astrology.

Guna Milan is a part of Kundli matching which is done on the basis of the bride and the groom’s birth chart or natal chart. It is also called “Ashtakoota Milan” as it signifies the eight aspects of Gunas.

The eight “Kootas” or aspects are:-

1) Varna/ Varan/ Jaati: This one is used to compare the spirituality of the boy and girl along with their ego levels. There are four categories under this aspect- Brahmins (Highest), Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shudra (Lowest).

2) Vasya/ Vashya: This koota measures the mutual attraction between the two individuals. It also tells us who will have control in the marriage and the equation between the couple. The classifications under this category are- Manav/Nara (Human), Vanchar (animals such as lion), Chatuspad (small animals such as deer), Jalchar (Sea animals), Keeta/Keet (insects).

3) Tara/ Dina: This koota is used to find the destiny and the birth star compatibility of the couple. In total, there are 27 birth stars.

4) Yoni: It is used to measure the mutual love that a couple possesses. It also helps to determine the sexual compatibility and intimacy level that they are likely to have. There are 14 animal classifications under this koota namely Horse, Elephant, Sheep, Snake, Dog, Cat, Rat, Cow, Buffalo, Tiger, Deer, Monkey, Lion, Mongoose.

5) Graha Maitri/ Rasyadipati: This koota represents the moon sign compatibility of the couple. IT also tells us the nature and level of friendship and affection that they would have. Their mental and intuitive compatibility is also measured by this aspect.

6) Gana: This koota is for measuring the behavior and temperament and is divided into 3 categories – Deva (God), Manav (Human) and Asura (Demon).

7) Rashi or Bhakoot: It is used to find the emotional compatibility between the boy and the girl.

8) Nadi: Nadi koota is associated with health and genes. IT is divided into 5 categories – Aadi (Vata) Nadi, Madhya (Pitta) Nadi, and Antya (Kapha) Nadi.

IMPORTANCE OF GUNA MILAN

There is a specific set of points that each Koota possesses, which adds up to a total of 36 points. There are a total of 36 Guna Milan in the Ashtakoota.

On the basis of the total number of points obtained from Guna Milan, some predictions are made a match with 18 points that will most likely be discouraged and are not considered an ideal couple.

Any match which has more than 18 points in their result is considered to be eligible for marriage. However, the more the points, the more is the likelihood of having an extremely successful marriage.

OTHER FACTORS

Aside from Guna Milan, there are other factors that need to be kept in mind before recommending any couple to unite in the bond of matrimony. Things like Manglik Dosha, financial possession in society, Longevity of partner, emotional stability, etc. also need to be kept in mind.

Checking the Manglik Dosha or Mangal Dosha is as important as getting the Guna Milan.

As astrological beliefs, if you proceed with the marriage ignoring any Dosha that came up, the marriage might suffer some turbulence. If some “Manglik” flaw is encountered in the horoscope, getting married to someone who is also suffering from Manglik Dosha is advised.

In the Ashtakoota system, the Nadi koota accounts for 8 points. If your points in total add up to more than 18, the marriage is considered feasible even if there is some Nadi Dosha in the Kundli.
