Life is nothing but a roller coaster with a thousand ups and a thousand downs. It is often that we think the downs keep recurring more than the ups. In those moments, when the world around us seems to crumble down, and the skies turn black, all we can do is try not ripping our hair apart and ask the power above, “why me?”. What I’m trying to say is, we forget to count our blessings. We forget to be grateful for what we have and that is when life takes advantage and pours a bucket full of sorrow and pain just making it all the harder. Most of us have been trained to believe that there are certain steps to take which will lead us to happiness. But what if one of the puzzle pieces doesn’t fit? Does that mean we give up; that happiness isn’t for us anymore? That is completely false. Even the people with the most minimal of things are seen to be happy. The trick? Counting your blessings and being grateful. Gratitude is a very powerful emotion and can change one’s entire life.

to do to have a happy and grateful life is to think you have one and bask in
the glory of whatever you are blessed with.

Perform every action with the utmost attention. From the moment you wake up to the time the world of sleep takes over you, pay attention to the simple things you do. Whether you are drinking a glass of water to quench your thirst or going for a walk to breathe in some fresh air, make sure you commit yourself to it with your full presence.
Take out time for your loved ones. Surround yourself with those who love and care about you and spend more time with them. This will enable you to bask in positivity. Enjoy laughing, crying, and doing activities together. You will feel how much this can help and make you feel blessed.
Enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Whether it is to have a cold shower on a hot and sweaty day or to munch on your favorite cookie while enjoying your favorite show lying on your couch, always perform these activities with a positive mind and accept the joy these simple things are capable of giving you.
