Ayurveda is a form of a medical system which has been practised from the ancient days. Earlier, each and every disease were cured by the Ayurveda. But as the advancement of Science and Technology happened, people turned towards modern medical systems. But now, the Ayurveda is gaining back its lost importance. Nowadays, lots of lost traditions are gaining back their meaning and significance. Spirituality, Astrology and now Ayurveda are some of the very popular traditions and systems of the ancient ages that are gaining back their lost significance. Origin of Ayurveda

The Ayurveda was mostly originated in parts of Asia. India has been practising Ayurveda from almost 3000 years ago. Nowadays, a large percentage of people still have faith in Ayurveda and are continuing to choose it over other medical systems. According to Hindu mythology, the physician to the gods Dhanvantari attributed the Ayurveda from the lord Brahma. The Ayurveda principles are written in the Vedas. The Atharva Veda marks the mentions of most of the health systems and cures. According to the Vedas, the Ayurveda can cure a large number of diseases. The Vedas have mentioned about different plants and herbs that can cure diseases. Except for Atharva Veda, Rig Veda also has some hymns which have names of certain plants that have medicinal value to them. There are many books that were written on the Ayurveda medical system. The importance has been lost because many people don’t know how to practise it. But slowly, as people are generating interest in Ayurveda, they are researching and studying the different principles of Ayurveda and are bringing back the Ayurveda medical system in the lives of people. Ayurveda doesn’t include any form of chemical substances in its medicines. It mostly uses different types of herbs to cure diseases. It can cure fever, infection, cough, skin diseases etc. Today, even though science has been developed so much, still there are many diseases that are not cured by it. But Ayurveda has a cure for everything.


Significance of Ayurveda

Earlier, Ayurveda was considered to be one of the best ways to cure diseases. It not only cures the body but also balances the mind, body and the soul. There are many principles and rules that are followed in Ayurveda. It doesn’t include uses of any form of chemical substances, thus the medicines don’t have any side effects to it. Ayurveda doesn’t only use plants and herbs as medicines. But it also introduces practices like Yoga, mantras chanting, massages etc. as the cure for different diseases.

There are many people who follow Ayurveda inspired lifestyle as well in which they take up vegetarianism, practise Yoga, eat healthy foods and do certain exercises for keeping themselves healthy. The Ayurveda has got no side effects to it and hence, it can be practised by anyone of any age. You can be someone very old or someone very young, there are no restrictions on age. The Ayurveda has some life-changing benefits in the life of people. It helps in weight loss, lowering blood pressure, issues of cholesterol, heart diseases, improved skin and hair quality etc. Researchers believe that Ayurveda diet can help to cleanse the body as well. There are lots of toxins that are present inside the body. Ayurveda will help you in removing all the toxins and cleansing the body. Your body will work properly once all the toxins are removed. Ayurveda also helps in reducing stress as well. The lifestyle followed in Ayurveda is strict but the positive effects will be worth it.
